Description

Custom Air Cooled Condenser with Copper Tube and Aluminum Fin

V-Type Dry Cooler
An air cooled condenser (ACC) is a direct dry cooling system which do not require cooling water, where gas or steam is condensed inside air-cooled finned tubes. The cool ambient air flow outside the finned tubes is what removes heat and defines the functionality of an ACC.

How an Air Cooled Condenser Works

1. Hot Vapor Inlet: Exhaust steam or refrigerant vapor enters the condenser tubes.
2. Air Cooling: Ambient air is forced (by fans) or drawn naturally over finned tubes, removing heat from the vapor.
3. Condensation: The vapor cools and condenses into liquid.
4. Liquid Collection: The condensed liquid (water or refrigerant) is collected and recirculated.

Key Components

cooling coil details
1. Finned Tubes: Increase surface area for better heat transfer.
2. Axial or Forced-Draft Fans: Move air across the tubes.
3. Steel Frame Structure: Supports the condenser modules.
4. Vapor Distribution System: Ensures even flow of steam/vapor.
5. Condensate Collection Tank: Stores the condensed liquid.

Advantages of Air Cooled Condenser

1. No Water Consumption: Ideal for arid regions where water is scarce.
2. Lower Maintenance: No scaling, fouling, or corrosion from water.
3. Simpler Installation: No need for cooling towers or water treatment systems.
4. Environmentally Friendly: No thermal discharge into water bodies.

Conclusion

Air cooled condensers are best suited for dry climates, water-scarce regions, or where environmental regulations restrict water usage. However, they may be less efficient in very hot environments.
Specifications can be tailored to suit each application, with different materials, sizes, noises and cooling mediums available.
